The name Lonavala derives from Leni (means A resting place carved from stone) and Avali (means series).Lonavala is a hill station in the pune district maharastra.it is about 64 km from pune and 96 km from mumbai.
it was a also major railway station between pune and mumbai. Lonavala is also know for there chikki and chocolate. Also two major highway Mumbai-pune Exdpressway and Mumbai-bengaluru highway pass through Lonavala.

Lonavala is also big place for Indian Navy because Indian navy's Technical training institute HMIS Shivaji is in Lonavala since 16 Feb 1945.Lonavala is also best and popular traveling place in india. All season in lonava is good for travelling because it is a hill station and it's tempreture is around 25°C so all people mostly like to come here in summer.
